Mariejan is married and the mother of 5 children, so is very conscious of the need for a healthy balance between work, family and friends; and of keeping a sense of humour and sanity!
She has a Bachelor of International Business and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance. She has made good use of both in a varied career. Her clients benefit from the same high level analytical skills and attention to detail that are usually only available to the big corporate players.
She has worked as a speculative foreign exchange trader in the money markets of Hong Kong, Account Manager in the treasury at the NAB, and managed the wholesale energy pricing book for Energex Retail. She has managed a medium sized, non-profit childcare business and undertaken project management contracts with Suncorp and Bank of Queensland, helping them develop products and marketing strategies and the back office systems to support and direct the growth and expansion of their business.

I am a locally born and bred Toowoomba girl. Attended Wilsonton State School and Mt Lofty (TSHS) finishing my education in 1983. During my school years, I played hockey and represented Toowoomba and Darling Downs. When I commenced working, I ceased playing hockey and got into the Horse Racing industry, to which I still have an association. I worked in retail for two and a half years, before joining NAB in a clerical role in 1986. I then progressed through different areas of the bank and finished as a Sales and Service Advisor, formally resigning in 2007. In family life, I married in 2003 and have 3 children aged between 5 and 9. Now I work for RAMS Home Loans as a Business Manager on a part time basis during school hours, which gives me the flexibility and balance between family and work.
